Seeing real life-change in the next generation is what it’s all about! The investments we make in their lives today impact their family, school, the rest of their life, and all eternity. We’re so grateful for your generosity, Milestone Church. It gives us the opportunity to create experiences where students encounter God in ways that mark them forever. Last week at Rev Camp, 311 Milestone high school students and 38 small group leaders joined up with nearly 1,000 students from across the country for 5 days of full-on chasing after God.
Your generosity creates experiences where students encounter God in ways that mark them forever.
Small group leaders witnessed students giving their lives to Christ, declaring victory over addictions, finding freedom from guilt, shame, and loneliness, overcoming abuse and family struggles, receiving physical healing, speaking in tongues, and baptism in the Holy Spirit! Here is just a snapshot of the stories from this incredible week:
“One of my students was ready to give up on life. She felt alone, like no one would care if she was missing. In group time she opened up about this all and the other girls came around her and embraced her, expressing how important she is in their lives. We declared victory over the spirit in Jesus’ name and prayed hope over her. Wednesday night she was a completely different person – hands out during worship in full surrender, and a big smile on her face. She expressed the freedom she felt from the negative thoughts, and that she is no longer alone because she knows her identity is now in Christ alone.”
Kaeden came to camp struggling with severe depression and anxiety. Coming from a broken family, he desperately needed God’s healing. During the week he encountered God in incredible ways, experiencing real healing from the depression and anxiety. Kaeden’s life was impacted in such a great way, that he began witnessing to others at camp. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he was boldly speaking and praying over students, several who received gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Jake wasn’t sure why he signed up to go to camp. He felt far from God and that his faith was numb. At Rev Camp he heard God speaking to him through other students and leaders, who encouraged him to step up and be the leader God is calling him to be. “I feel like God’s pushing me to get out of my comfort zone and to be bold and own my faith. I’ve decided to stop being afraid and to defeat my temptations.” On Wednesday he asked to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and his leader prayed with him to receive it.
“Katrina was closed off from the very start. She didn’t want to be there, and you could tell she was going through a lot. Despite having loving parents she struggles with her identity (physically, spiritually, emotionally), and that she has been self-harming because she feels so deeply lonely and empty. After our group laid hands on her and prayed, she broke down in tears. She prayed for God to heal her heart, and His Spirit to fill her. She asked Him for forgiveness, and to help her forgive herself. At the end of the week she said for the first time she doesn’t just think God is real, she KNOWS God is real, and that her faith is too.”
